THE KIND MIND PSYCHOLOGIST
Rebekka Sommer: Psychologist
My focus
In my experience, people are reluctant to seek out a psychologist because they feel they can ‘handle it themselves’ or its not ‘that’ bad. Like all health, the sooner issues, even minor ones, are addressed, the more manageable and more likely we are to overcome them.
‘Kind mind’ refer to a focus on being kind with our minds. Often we are able to be kind and empathetic with others, but are brutal in judgment and expectation with ourselves. We give and give to others and rarely focus on our own inner state and wellbeing. Kind mind is about offering ourselves the same loving kindness that we usually reserve for others.
This way of living creates a peace and space in our hearts and minds. It is in this space that we are experience joy and untapped potential.
‘Right now’ is when we want to do this and it is by committing to the present that we are able to let go of the past for identity and the future for meaning.
